Summary:
The job of the Functional Analyst is to design the ergonomics and the functionalities of an application. To do that, he must help the Business to define needs, analyze and formalize them, and then suggest the most appropriate solutions. He is then involved in implementation, specifically supervising configuration and functional and business acceptance tests. His duties include support and training activities.
Responsibilities
Primary activities
- Problem Statements, Refine Needs, Constrains, Boundaries
- Analyze Business users’ needs and business requirements.
- Assume responsibility for analyzing one or more functional processes.
- Draw up the functional specifications for a Business change request
- Identify, Prioritize Use Case Architecturally Significant
- Use Cases Modelling and specification (detail), including Storyboard
- Refine features/needs in Use Cases Elicitation & Description
- Define the general and detailed functional specifications
- Suggest or participate in definition of solutions (including examining choices between configurations, configuration and custom developments)
- Configure and/or supervise the configuration of a Business software package
- Define and implement functional tests in collaboration with the test team using standard test tools.
- Coach a team of developers regarding functional aspects. Impact Requirement Change, Refine IS Architecture
- Define the screen layout and the sequences based on the chart of the client
- Assistance to the business during user acceptance test
- Support the business for change management
- May mentor other analysts (From Advanced level)
- Help define “look & feel” principles

Technical skills
- Knowledge of SAP MM-SD (master data, transactional data, customizing)
- Good relationship skills, multilanguage communication (English, French, Dutch)
- Shown experience in one or more SAP implementations
